The Cypress String Quartet
'"An attractive combination of structured Apollonian restraint and unleashed Dionysian exuberance" wrote a Washington Post reviewer of a Cypress String Quartet performance as quoted on its website. Further the site states, "Chamber Music Magazine described the 'Cypress as a Generation X ensemble to watch as it is reaching out in new ways to ignite interest in chamber music.' " Since its inception in 1996, the Quartet "has built a respected body of new music, commissioning and premiering over 25 works from America's leading composers." |
